Hello and thank you for deciding to look in on my website. I'm Donald MacKenzie and I live in the village of Glenfarg in Perthshire, Scotland.

I was born and grew up in the Lochaber area of the West Highlands of Scotland and what you see here are the results of my meanderings around Scotland and beyond.

The land is my passion. The need for land reform in Scotland is my cause. Photography is my means of seeing. Seeing is a about wakening the senses, challenging me to understand what I am looking at. Understanding the role of people in the land. How they live, work and play. About the environment and the balance between humankind, other land users and the land itself.

The images I create are representative of a scene. They are not meant to be pretty pictures of somewhere or something. If an image has you asking questions, then I will have succeeded. If it stirs an emotion in you, then I will have hit the bulls eye.
